Gift Boxes — a new way to share Argilla
Over the summer, I began thinking about how my pieces could live together—not just as individual objects, but as small sets that tell a story. A cup beside another, a candle waiting for its light, a box tied with ribbon. From that thought, the new Argilla Gift Boxes were born: ready-to-give combinations that bring together some of my favorite forms—espresso cups, candle stands, and porcelain match strikers—in coordinated colors and textures.
The sets vary in scale and purpose.
There are espresso cup boxes in sets of two, four, or six, featuring striped or confetti cups that invite daily rituals around coffee—or even sake, as one customer recently pointed out. I’m also working on new versions that will include locally roasted coffee, turning them into small coffee gift sets—perfect for espresso lovers, hosts, or early-morning rituals.
Two candle gift sets complete the collection. The first pairs a porcelain stand with a pure beeswax candle by Big Dipper Wax Works, chosen for its warm light and natural scent of honey and wax. The second adds a porcelain match striker and a small jar of color-tipped matches, creating a full ritual of light—simple gestures that turn any corner into a moment of calm.
Part of the idea was to make gifting easier. We all love the thought of offering something handmade and personal, but in New York, where space is tight, wrapping paper and ribbons can feel like a luxury. Sometimes finding the box feels harder than finding the gift itself. So I decided to take care of that part too. Each box is already wrapped, tied, and lined—so all you need to add is a personal note, tucked into the card included inside.
The packaging carries the same attention as the pieces: bi-color mailers in black and kraft tones, filled with black crinkle paper, and tied with Argilla-branded ribbon or burlap bows. As the idea grew, I began offering smaller black square boxes for individual pieces—match strikers, pitchers, or stands—and even black bubble mailers for lighter gifts like single espresso cups, matcha bowls, or porcelain jewelry. Now, every Argilla piece leaves the studio ready to be given.
