Handmade Porcelain Rings and Ceramics

Brooklyn, New York & Elba, Tuscany

Some objects just make you smile.

Made in small batches in Brooklyn and Elba — porcelain rings and ceramics for the table.

Objects you pick up and put down a hundred times a day, that sit on the windowsill, on your hands, that hold cupcakes, colored matches, or nothing at all.

They accept crumbs, wax, fingerprint. By the end of the day, they carry traces of time: touch, movement, residue. These are not flaws but evidence.

At night, they rests exactly as they are—imperfect, marked, and ready to play again tomorrow.

ITALIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP, BROOKLYN MADE

I am Marianna, an Italian ceramicist — Bologna born, Brooklyn based, working in porcelain and clay.

Argilla is the Italian word for clay — it's where everything begins.

I moved here from Italy — for love, as these things go — and trained as a professional chef. I worked in one of the city's Michelin-starred kitchens, and started making porcelain ceramics to present my own recipes. One thing led to another.

The studio is in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A second one is taking shape on the island of Elba, in Tuscany.
